The ETIC Range
Granor has recently introduced an innovative, robust large movement FINGER joint to its already broad range of Bridge Deck Expansion Joints Systems.
The product is Granor ETIC series Finger joints.
A comprehensive assessment of the Granor ETIC joints was undertaken by the RTA of NSW for compliance to AS 5100.4 and vetting of critical component Q.A. and installation documentation.
With the resulting RTA of NSW approval. the first Australian installation of the Granor ETIC Finger joints was recently completEd on the new bridge over the Wallanbah River at Nabiac. NSW, This bridge forms part of the Baulderstone-Homibrook contract with the RTA of NSW for the upgrade of the Bundacree Creek to Possum Brush section of the Princess Highway.
The Granor ETIC Finger joints are ideal for use at Expansion Joint locations where total movements exceed the 85mm maximum open gap at ULS that applies to single seal element 'stripseal' joint systems sum as the very popular Granor Ausflex AC-AR system.
The Granor ETIC Finger joints have models in its range up to 160mm total movement, with a larger capacity version of 240mm total movement being introduced to the range during 2006.
The Granor ETIC Finger joints offer superior performance outcomes to conventional open steel finger joints, by providing:-
- Assurance of watertightness by way of an underside integrated continuous cellular rubber seal.
- Accommodation of skewed joints due to the teeth being a 'saw toothed' configuration.
- Superior retention of the system by way of inclined positioned high tensile 'posttensioned" alloy fixings.
- Enhanced corrosion protection resistance provided by Aluminium and Alloy components.
- Modular segmented finger plates allow partial replacement outcomes if future maintenance is required.
